Delayed peerages for MPs that lose their seats at elections

Out of respect to the electorate please put in place a requirement that any MP which loses their seat at a general election cannot be appointed to the House of Lords for at least 5 years.

Why is this important?

To overide the will of the electorate by appointing to the Lords a former MP recently unsucessful in standing for election shames the democratic process and damages the established principle that MPs are ultimatly accountable to the voters.
