No to Building on the Green Belt at Cribbs
Please don't allow the developers to build on the Green Belt and Flood Plains at Cribbs Causeway. Please don't allow North Bristol Green Belt and Flood Plains to disappear forever and please reduce the size of this development.

Why is this important?
We need to protect our Flood Plains and Green Belt surrounding Bristol before it disappears forever.
7,000 or 8,000 new houses is a massive development that is inappropriate for this already highly congested area. This is a major route in and out of Bristol.
This is just the beginning of an overall core strategy for the development of 28,355 houses that South Gloucestershire are proposing for North Bristol. This may result in an extra 60,000 cars on the roads of North Bristol. This will change the face of North Bristol forever, clogging up our major routes in and out of Bristol and potentially opening up Bristol to higher flood risks.
All the green spaces will be lost and our natural Flood Plains will disappear. The whole of North Bristol will be full of congestion, traffic pollution and all our adjoining countryside will be transformed into a concrete jungle.
We believe Building on North Bristol Flood Plains at Cribbs Causeway is a risky move by South Gloucestershire Council given the recent catastrophic flooding we have witnessed in Somerset.
This is your opportunity to appeal to South Gloucestershire Council and Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, before our flood plains and green belt are lost forever.
Why are South Gloucestershire Council only proposing to develop in North Bristol on the City flood plains in heavily congested areas? They have no plans whatsoever to develop anywhere else in South Gloucestershire. Why can't the public choose where they want houses. The developers have total control over the process, they think only of maximising their profits and not the congestion, flood risks or impact it will cause.
We need to develop and invest in our towns for a brighter and sustainable future for the next generations. Build around towns not cities. Respect the green belt it's there for a reason.
