Remove barriers to open Thames Path for walkers and cyclists in Tower Hamlets
Remove the obstructions and barriers that block the Thames Path along the Tower Hamlets section of the river.
Negotiate access for the Thames Path with landowners who are currently obstructing the Path.
Build river walkways that bypass those obstructions that cannot be removed.
Designate the scheme as an official regeneration in order that the local authorities have greater powers to act and business/recreation providers have greater confidence to invest.

Why is this important?
The River Thames does not belong to one person or a corporation, yet the Thames Path in Tower Hamlets is blocked in many parts by residential developments and industrial units.
Opening up a continuous route from Tower Bridge to river Lea can serve as an excellent clean air route for cyclists and a low pollution walking option for residents and visitors.
A continuous Thames Path will allow cyclists, walkers and joggers to enjoy this city’s greatest natural asset, and open a new route from east to west, free of pollution. It will create opportunities for sightseeing and café society and regenerate east London.
