Residents Appeal to the Duke of Norfolk to reconsider his planned development of greenfield land

Please consider the impact on the quality of life for Arundel’s existing residents and preserve the surrounding beauty of our rapidly dwindling countryside.

Why is this important?

We feel this petition is important because a large number of residents in and around the development area were and are still, completely unaware of its existence.

What’s at Stake:

*These people will have to use their cars so - more Congestion*
*Access via Ford Road and Dalloway Road, both unsuitable for extra traffic*
*Destruction of wildlife and a vital corridor between the ancient woodland and water meadows*
*The start of infilling along the whole of Ford Road, particularly if the By-Pass is built*
*Further erosion of Arundel’s beautiful, unique green setting in the folds of the South Downs*
*Local schools are already full and the Doctors surgery is struggling to meet current demand*

WHAT about the Climate Emergency declared by our own parliament and the Duke of Sussex? How is this helping? Concreting over yet more countryside for executive homes, when there are alternative sites in town that are derelict or standing empty which would be more suitable for conversion to affordable housing.

PLEASE, SIGN OUR PETITION FOR RESIDENTS APPEALING to the DUKE OF NORFOLK to think again. Please consider the impact on the quality of life for Arundel’s existing residents and preserve the surrounding beauty of our rapidly dwindling countryside.

How it will be delivered

The petition so far has been accepted and sent to the Duke of Norfolk himself and also Arun Council opposing the Planning application. https://www.arun.gov.uk/weekly-lists Reference AB/135/20/OUT
