To: Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council

Save our Barry to Penarth 88 bus service!

We call on the Vale of Glamorgan Council to reverse it's decision to end it's support for the vital number 88 service between Barry and Penarth.
The benefits of getting more people out of cars and onto buses are huge for local communities and the environment . Better buses enable increases in employment and productivity that will benefit not just local residents and businesses but help drive the Welsh economy. Buses support lower transport emissions to help the planet and clean up toxic air, and ensure that every member of the community has more equal access to public services and support, and friends and family that poor transport denies.
The local Green party believe that if we are ever going to tackle both the Climate and Nature emergencies, then more local bus services not less need to be supported...for the sake of the common good.

Why is this important?

The number 88 is a vital service to those caring after sick children at Ty Hafren Children's hospice.
The local Green party believe that if we are ever going to tackle both the Climate and Nature emergencies, then more local bus services not less need to be supported...for the sake of the common good.
