Scrap unfair ticket price hikes after the Oasis fiasco

Scrap the unfair “dynamic pricing” ticket system which enables you to increase ticket prices mid sale.

Why is this important?

Tickets for Oasis much anticipated reunion tour went on sale on Saturday morning with unprecedented demand. But once fans had got to the front of the virtual queue they saw  tickets had risen unexpectedly as a result of Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing policy.

Dynamic pricing are standard tickets which increase in price due to supply and demand, similar to those you could expect to see on airline websites. This unfair system meant thousands of Oasis fans missed out with tickets priced at £350, up from £135 when the sale began.

The Government have announced they will look into the use of "dynamic pricing" with a consultation starting in the autumn.

This is not a one off and is being used for the sale of multiple artists’ shows. This new system may be run by official websites but effectively acts like a glorified ticket tout.
