Stop Pitch Fees Being Increased

Should MTCBC go ahead with the proposed pitch fee increase, this could have a detrimental effect on many of the sporting clubs in the Merthyr borough. The price increase proposed is totally unacceptable and also unaffordable. We would be interested to know how MTCBC can justify such increases when the facilities that many clubs have are so poor. We were told by MTCBC that neighbouring local authorities were charging similar prices but we have found this to be untrue.

The outcome of this could be that many clubs would cease, resulting in many people particularly children not being able to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. something which in this day and age and particularly in this area is of paramount importance.
