29million homes still need to be retrofitted and the built environment sector (Transport, Planning, Housing, Health, Land Use) are all siloed in their approach in building/ retrofitting our homes/ communities to be fit for the future. The sector has never had a ministry to combine all of the thought leadership occurring across the UK instead it has led to competition across the industry rather than collaboration, preventing us from reaching our carbon zero target in 2050. This is the ideal way to create a sustainable pipeline of research and development to realise places fit for the future, creating jobs, creating economic, health and social resilience across the UK.

This is important because innocent animals die every year through plastic bottles landing in the sea and being eaten by large fish and sea mammals. The process of making the bottle requires the use of fossil fuels but the use of fossil fuels release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is warming the planet, changing the weather patterns which will lead to mass extinction of animals and plants, as well as, people being displaced from their homelands. People also are mislead by the way plastic bottles are not always recycled as well as they thought. By the banning the sale of water in single use plastic bottles people will be encouraged to use their own reusable bottles and water filling stations.

Higher levels of air pollutants can cause adverse health effects, such as respiratory symptoms, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. There is also the potential for water pollution, which could pose a risk to local residents through the contamination of their drinking water with hazardous chemicals. These power stations will also also cause an increase in CO2 emissions which is not acceptable in the present Climate Crisis. Unfortunately planning permission has already been granted for both power stations and cannot be rescinded. However South Somerset District Council's Climate Strategy team have agreed to contact Conrad Energy to discuss alternative solutions. Building new fossil fuel power plants of any type is completely unacceptable; we need energy solutions that are fit for the 21st Century. We urge Conrad Energy to consider the Climate Emergency and the health and well-being of local residents and adapt their plans to build battery storage sites instead, as the company has agreed to do elsewhere. The Climate Change Act (2008) was passed after 412 MPs supported an Early Day Motion in 2005. This was a ground-breaking bill, but the climate and ecological emergency has been getting steadily worse. In May 2019 the Act was amended with enhanced targets, but there is still a long way to go. The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill--the CEE Bill—would bring together a representative cross-section of British people in a Citizens’ Assembly. They would listen to experts, have thorough discussions, and report with realistic plans to limit climate change, biodiversity loss, and the injustices they cause in the world. These plans would be taken up by government. The Bill has been supported by nearly 100 MPs so far, and was due for a second reading on 26th March 2021, but is likely to be delayed after the Government suspended Friday sittings. The threat from climate change and the human impact of humans on the environment is daunting. Much like the foundation of the NHS was based on the mutual aid societies set up by ordinary people, we need to support the organisation of local grassroots initiatives to save the planet, rather than just waiting for legislation and international agreements

The increase not over lockdown but THIS YEAR alone has blown, it occurs at LEAST 1/2 times a week at the moment. We need to not only support those struggling but try and prevent it as much as we possibly can.

This is a famous British land mark, referred to by Vera Lynn (known as "The Forces' Sweetheart") in her 1942 wartime classic 'There'll Be Bluebirds Over The White Cliffs of Dover' which should be saved. This area is also: * A Special Area of Conservation (SAC), * A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and is * An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Because bee populations are declining as it is and we are now going to be using neonic sprays again, which will kill more bees.

This is important for the joy and awareness and knowledge he has given to every family for decades.

Our seas and oceans and the wildlife that rely on them, are all at risk. Micro plastics are causing devastating effects. Killing bird life, fish and turtles to mention just a few.

Creating new coal mines is a national and global issue, not purely a local one. It is contrary to the UK’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and the coal from it will contribute to global emissions that accelerate climate change. Currently local authorities can approve such mines without consideration of national goals or international impacts or responsibilities. This is wrong and such power should be removed and rest with the national government.
