Preserve bus services in Lancashire

DO NOT CUT EVENING. SUNDAY & BANK HOLIDAY SERVICES
Preserve all present bus services for the benefit of the Citizens of Lancashirel

Why is this important?

Your proposal is a 'Cost Cutting Exercise' which will, in fact, increase costs to the people of Lancashire. This is a false premise. It is more efficient, economic and environmentally friendly for Lancashire County Council to deliver this service direct to the people. If this proposal is enacted then increased costs and inconvenience will be born by the poor, disabled, young and elderly people + families with no motor car..
This proposal will lead to an 'Increase in cost to society'.

IN REAL TERMS, THIS IS NOT A SAVING FOR THE COMMUNITY.

Consider the following:
- We are no longer a 9 to 5 - 5 day week society.
- We are now moving towards a 24/7 culture which will demand a better bus service.
- Problems - caused by loss of Evening, Sunday and Bank Holiday Services:-
- How do workers (particularly low-paid) get to and from work?
- Loss of custom to all businesses.
- How do people in need, reach - Hospitals, Doctors, Rest Homes, Nursing Homes, shops, supermarkets, Banks etc.
- How do people access Entertainment and Social Activities, Theatre, Cinema, Restaurants, Leisure Centres, Societies, Evening Classes & Public Houses/Clubs (Cutting out the risk of drink driving).
- Health & Environment.
- Buses are more environmentally friendly
- The greater use of motor cars will increase pollution and congestion/parking etc.
- A walk to the bus stop promotes healthy exercise.
