CITIZEN STATE PENSION SAME MONEY REGARDLESS OF NATIONAL INSURANCE HISTORY

CITIZEN STATE PENSION SAME MONEY REGARDLESS OF NATIONAL INSURANCE HISTORY

Labour Pensioner Policy:
Pay the same state pension money of 60 per cent of national average wage
to all UK citizen men and women pensioners already retired
and
to new pensioners from age 60 regardless of National Insurance history.

Why is this important?

GIVES ALL PENSIONERS ALL AGES INCREASED STATE PENSION - age 60 to 100 plus.
£18,000 a year state pension for all pensioners, being 60 per cent of the average wage which is about £30,000 a year (2016). Paid from 60 for men and women, as well as to all current pensioners.
Same money regardless of National Insurance history and SERPs opt out.

This is better than the maximum figure of around £13,000 plus of a full SERPs pension (2015) of full basic state pension and additional top up pension that only 20 per cent get, mostly to men, and lost forever now to new workers just starting out.

GIVES YOU GOOD QUALITY RETIREMENT
Which Guide magazine in 2017 did a survey and found that a couple needed £18,000 per year income to pay for basic survival and £26,000 between them for a social life and short holidays in Europe or England.

WHAT ELSE?

SAVES YOUTH JOBS AND CREATES MORE
Protects over 1 million young peoples' job on the high street, saved from younger folk all online shopping now.

IRONS OUT ALL THE REDUCTIONS TO STATE PENSION FROM NATIONAL INSURANCE RECORD GAPS AND THE SERPs OPT OUT
Not everyone's National Insurance history is properly logged by the government, leaving years not listed.
Women get full pension instead of the reduced money from past fiasco of Married Woman's NI Stamp.
This petition offers the same increased money regardless of National Insurance record, same for men and women, without any variation. The SERPs opt out was the worst idea for those not in top paying jobs, as you would have gained far more from being contracted into SERPs from the additional top up pension.

ENDS PENSIONER POVERTY IN UK - ALL AGES OF PENSIONERS OLD AND NEW
Pensioners live below breadline food and fuel poverty when only on state pension money or only with just a tiny works pension (the norm if low waged throughout life).
Source: 1in 6 live in pensioner poverty - Age UK - http://www.ageuk.org.uk/money-matters/income-and-tax/living-on-a-low-income-in-later-life/

This contributes to around 40,000 excess winter deaths of elderly each year, within which are around 7000 aged in their 60s.

The official measure of poverty is income below 40 per cent of average wage. The state pension and lots of works pension are closer to 3 per cent of average wage.

LOWEST STATE PENSION OF ALL WEALTHY COUNTRIES
UK state pension lowest of all rich nations on earth and with flat rate since Wednesday April 6, is now even more unequal.

MEANS-TESTED GUARANTEE PENSION CREDIT IS WITHERING AWAY
National Pensioners Convention confirm that you get the guarantee pension credit maximum top up to a minimum income level, even without a National Insurance record, but pension credit has not got the triple lock guarantee rise each year up to 2.5 per cent as with the state pension. Last year there was no annual rise to pension credit. This year Savings Credit top up to the guarantee pension credit was abolished for new pensioners by the flat rate.

Those only on pension credit and / or those only on a reduced state pension (mostly women by working life without access to National Insurance) and pension credit, are helped by this petition to get dignity in old age with a liveable state pension for all.

Which also helps those hit by works pensions that get reduced when a firm goes bust, as shown in 2016 by Tata Steel and Bhs. And who lost entire private pensions, like with Equitable Life.

When a firm goes bust and takes it works pension fund with it, the government's pension protection fund saves your works pension, but never gives an annual rise again to you in old age. So lessening your works pension over the years.

SUGGESTIONS TO LABOUR PARTY HOW TO FUND - Due to general election June 8 might bring a Labour government this year.

Right now the rich earning above the average income, fully 25 per cent of all workers, pay only 2 per cent National Insurance deductions on their salary above that level.

Abolish the maximum salary threshold for the rich and have them pay the full 12 per cent National Insurance deductions on ALL of their salary.

The state pension right now is taxable so is widows pensions (a pension pre 2002).
Make state pension non-taxable from Income Tax and raise Income Tax for the rich.

This petition is already addressed to Jeremy Corbyn Labour Leader who may well become the Prime Minister after June 8. Labour's pensioner pledge card enshrines the triple lock guaranteed annual rise in law in 2025 when Labour win the general election, showing they care for pensioners.

The Tories already said many times that they would end the triple lock, stop winter fuel allowance and the bus pass and that is within the pension review published 23 March 2017.

The Tories / Lib Dems in coalition 2010 - 2015 were against pensioners as are Tories today as the Tory government kept the state pension being taxed from the very first £1, so hitting all your income and giving pensioners less tax allowance than the rest of folk, who have £11,500 tax allowance in 2017.

Rumours are abounding that we might just get a snap early general election, according to the bookies either May 4 (during local elections) or at least by end of the 2017 year.

Please share my petition widely with your adult children, other family and work mates to get more signatures so as to get this petition onto the Labour manifesto for the general election if we get one this year.

38 Degrees please Ignore the Troll Florence May emailing 38 Degrees to complain about, in her words, trivialising / being grossly insulting, about my paragraph that began..."The high street tills will ring and ring and ring." And ended with the sentence: Ye Olde style sweet shoppe will abound in those great glass jars of old favourites. Sherbet Dips. Liquorice. Lemon Drops. Sugar Mice."... Those words were only for most elderly ladies, with no chance of money of their own, as they could not work once married and began their family and so have no state pension, works pensions, savings, being entirely reliant on their husband in life / inheriting husband's works pension (usually half of value) in death. The lady, Florence May, on Facebook certainly seems to lack any knowledge of women's social history.

Please share widely on Facebook and Twitter. UNISON pension campaigners will inform Jeremy Corbyn, Labour Leader, of this campaign at their national UNISON conference in June. A large number of signatures will encourage Jeremy Corbyn to take on that pensioner policy for current and future pensioners from 2020. Thanks.
