Name the new Learning and Teaching Centre at the University of Southampton after Jeremy Hardy

We call on the University of Southampton to name the new learning and teaching centre (currently under construction, and due to open later this year) the ‘Jeremy Hardy Learning and Teaching Centre’ in honour of one of our greatest alumni.

Why is this important?

Jeremy Hardy, the entertainer and social campaigner, was both inspiring and engaging, with a ready wit and a warm, inclusive personality. Not only did he connect with a great many people across all strands of society, he steadfastly used his voice to try to improve the world for people everywhere.

Jeremy represented all that is wonderful about the University of Southampton and its academic mission. As one of our greatest alumni, he deserves to be celebrated.

The opening later this year of the new Learning and Teaching Centre presents a perfect opportunity to do just that.
