No moor management for grouse-shooting on two National Trust estates in Derbyshire

Reason for signing

  • After Hen Harrier Day, Dunsop Bridge, Forest of Bowland: this prime site for Hen Harriers should have 13 pairs - no successful nests since 2015 and only THREE successful nests in the whole of England in 2017. Grouse shooting involves intensive moorland management, heather burning, pollution and intensive persecution of ALL predators, especially protected and threatened birds of prey. Unacceptable on National Trust land, an organisation we all regard as having strong conservation principles.
