No moor management for grouse-shooting on two National Trust estates in Derbyshire

Reason for signing

  • Management of the Dark Peak moorlands has proven to be incompatible with the existence of raptors in their natural habitat and has led to cases of illegal persecution proven via the courts. The National Trust's High Peak Vision document is a welcome move in the right direction and I encourage the Trust to take an even longer view in bringing an end to grouse shooting as a practice that has, over the last 150 years, had a huge impact on the ecosystem, habitats and the environment.
