Resign Or Be Removed Dominic Peacock!
We, the signatories of this petition demand that the above named organisations remove Councillor Dominic Peacock from office, following his vile comments relating to the late Jo Cox M.P.
The comments which received national coverage, were unanimously condemned by the above named organisations, however Cllr Peacock remains in post as a member of both Beverley Town Council and East Riding County Council.
Cllr Peacock remains a council member and presumably continues to receive the allowances that he remains eligible for. Despite universal disgust and scorn he HAS NOT yet resigned.
We urge ERYC, The Conservative Party and Beverley Town Council to realise his position is untenable and assist in helping remove him from office by shaming him into resigning as this appears to be the only current option.
Why is this important?
Cllr Dominic Peacock has insulted the memory of Jo Cox M.P., he has disgraced the good name of both councils and is currently suspended by The Conservative Party but has not been expelled. He has lost the trust and respect of electorate and colleagues. He should no longer be allowed to claim the appropriate allowance and the status of councillor following his disgraceful comments which received international coverage and brought Beverley and East Yorkshire into disrepute.
