The A5183 (the old A5) between St Albans and Redbourn is almost completely straight in sections and tight & twisty elsewhere, encouraging vehicles to speed along the straights and carry that speed along the twisty bits (where drivers might not see cyclists/runners/walkers until the last second). This excessive speed is dangerous to those using the A5183 for commuting and pleasure. A safe and well maintained foot- and cycle-path MUST be built for the safety of all who use the A5183.
