SAVE SURE START CHILDREN'S CENTRES IN LINCOLNSHIRE
We the undersigned, ask Lincolnshire County Council to reconsider their proposal to undertake a consultation on the closure of 15 phase 3 Sure Start Children's Centres in the county.
Why is this important?
Sure Start Children's Centres provide support to families when they need it most. For many years Sure Start Children's Centres have focussed on the core principle of improving outcomes for young children and their families within some of the most deprived areas of the country. They are an essential support network in promoting child development and school readiness in more disadvantaged familes. In fact, there is evidence that early intervention by Sure Start can benefit the lives of children and their families, with more positive future outomes. Closing Sure Start Children's Centres would be a false economy because early intervention saves services later on.
