Save the barge

UPDATE 07/09/17

Great news, The Barge has been saved! Grimsby’s iconic Barge pub restaurant has been saved thanks to a wave of public support with nearly 8,500 names on a petition.

Owner Derrick Howard had been told last month he would have to move The Barge to make way for a planned £20million cinema and leisure development. But he announced today following a meeting with developers and council chiefs The Barge can stay.

Incorporate the barge pub into the future development of the riverhead area in Grimsby town centre.

Why is this important?

The barge is a unique and important part of Grimsby towns heritage and culture and is probably one of the most loved pubs in town, let's band together and fight for its survival.
