Campaign for Freedom of Information

The Campaign is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to improve and defend freedom of information in support of a more vibrant and open democracy. We played a leading role in the passage of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We have defended the Act against attempts to restrict it by every government since it was introduced and are campaigning to strengthen and extend it. We promote FOI through campaigning and research and provide advice, support and training to help people use their rights to information.
