Babington Hospital is a precious local resource
This is just some of what Babington hospital provides for us at the moment:
 Blood Tests Podiatry A Baby Clinic
 Specialist Scans - ECGs
 Pulmonary Rehab. Physio Outpatients Community Police A Day Unit
 AND… 18 beds for rehabilitation, palliative and end-of-life care in a safe, well-resourced locality.
 AND…the very best, highly trained, professional staff in a Specialist environment.
The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) claim that all services will be provided in the new facility in Derwent St.
BUT…..
 THE 18 NURSED BEDS WILL NOT BE RETAINED IN BELPER.
 NOBODY WILL TELL US THE COST OF REFURBISHING THE PRESENT SITE.
 THE PROJECTED COST OF THE NEW BUILD MAY WELL EXCEED THE PROJECTED BUDGET.
 535 BEDS WILL BE LOST ACROSS THE COUNTY.
There has been no full, open and public consultation over hospital closures and the loss of nursed beds.
