BOYCOTT JOHN LEWIS! STOP demolition of Marlborough School NOW!

On Wednesday 9th September at 6.30pm, we are holding a boycott demonstration outside of Peter Jones on Sloane Square (owned by John Lewis). Please join us at this pivotal time, to protest against their role in demolishing this beautiful Victorian school building on Sloane & Draycott Avenue and INSIST that the demolition be stopped IMMEDIATELY.

DON'T LET JOHN LEWIS GET AWAY WITH DEMOLISHING A VICTORIAN BUILDING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTED BUT FOR THEIR BULLYING OF ENGLISH HERITAGE!
WE HAVE THE LETTER THAT IS PROOF!

RBKC Council has insisted it WILL begin demolition of Marlborough School on Monday 7th September, despite the fact that the Department For Education have warned this is "AT THEIR RISK" since they DO NOT have consent from the Secretary of State for change of use or disposal of playing fields (playground).

The demolition is therefore UNLAWFUL and it is in the name of JOHN LEWIS PLC the planning permission applicant. We call for an IMMEDIATE BOYCOTT OF JOHN LEWIS until the building is out of danger.

MORE REASONS TO BOYCOTT JOHN LEWIS:

1. John Lewis agreed to demolish Marlborough and build the new school plus offices & shops for the council, in exchange for ZERO affordable housing on the Clearings development.
2. John Lewis FOUGHT the application to have Marlborough listed by English Heritage of which the ARE CORPORATE MEMBERS.
3. John Lewis cashed out of the development as SOON as they obtained planning permission and found a buyer.
4. John Lewis reportedly walked away with £200 MILLION in a deal linked to Mike Ashley of Sports Direct and Newcastle United.
