Happy Birthday to our NHS

Event to both celebrate 68 years of our NHS and draw attention to the dangers it faces.

This event will not only celebrate 68 years of our NHS with balloons and badges but also draw attention to the dangers it currently faces, particularly the Sustainability and Transformation plans (STP). STPs are the biggest top down reorganisation of our NHS which few have even heard of. The country has been split into 44 areas called footprints and which will each have to submit draft ideas to NHS England by the end of June. The STPs have to show they can clear all debts in their area and make their share of the £22bn nationwide savings before they will be granted access to a small amount of extra funding. To do this there will have to be cuts in services, reduction in bed numbers, downgrading of hospitals, closure of departments and sale of NHS property

We will be handing out leaflets to explain all this to the public and collecting signatures for this petition
