Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: a seminar organised by the Hansard Society

TTIP Summit
The Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership: beneficial to our economy or a threat to our democracy?

You are invited to join us – and your local MEP Richard Corbett - at the TTIP Summit to discuss the biggest free trade negotiations in history and their implications for the future of people in Yorkshire and across the country.
We’ll be:

Separating fact from fiction: critics of TTIP say it will open the door to privatisation of the NHS and reduce regulatory standards in areas such as banking and food. But what’s myth and what’s reality? And what difference will it make for local jobs, business and public services?
Exploring what citizens think about TTIP: through new research by YouGov into public attitudes to the free trade principles underpinning the negotiations.
Considering future democratic engagement: including the timetable for the next stage negotiations, opportunities for business and civil society contributions, and looking at the role our Parliaments will play in the process.
The event is free but you must register with the eventbrite site:-

It is supported by the UK Office of the European Parliament so we need opposition supporters especially with knowledge of the TUFTS University computer modelling.
