Transparency in public contracts - hosted by Green Party

As the news breaks that Glos County Council have been ordered to reveal details of the Javelin Park incinerator contract (finally!), the Green Party are hosting a discussion event on Open Contracting which couldn't be more timely. While 38 Degrees is explicitly non-partisan and will remain so, transparency is an issue close to all our hearts. Sarah Lunnon, who will be speaking, is the only County Councillor to have motioned that the Council officially adopt an "open contracting" policy. Instead of our usual local discussion group we therefore encourage you this month to attend this event which promises to be both informative and relevant to many issues our members care about.
