Exemption for energy Co-Ops from profit sharing block.
I want Ofgen to make Co-Operatives exempt from the rules regarding rewarding customers for using their energy products.
Why is this important?
Ofgen have forced energy companies to stop rewarding customers. As a result, Co-Operative Energy can no longer follow the ethos of the Co-Operative Society & give a share of the profits back unless they are a member of the Mid-Counties Co-Operative Society.
The way a Co-Operative works is that if a person signs-up as a member, they are issued 1 share. At the end of each year each shareholder gets a payout of 1p/£ spent.
The OfGen ruling does not stop companies such as British Gas & EDF paying their shareholders a dividend each year. As the Co-Operative only pays out to shareholders, I cannot see why they are being stopped from carrying-on doing so.

It is intended for the petition to be delivered by email to Offgen & with a press release, to the general media.
