Rethink Repayment is a grassroots campaign fighting for fairer student loan repayment terms for millions of graduates in the UK.
The campaign was set up in 2025 by Ollie Gardner, a teacher, to highlight the unfairness of the system which currently sees graduates facing soaring student loan balances each year even when they are making significant monthly repayments. The Treasury Select Committee concluded that Plan 2 student loans were effectively ‘mis-sold’ and that the system is ‘broken’ and ‘unfair’.
Rethink Repayment are working with politicians across the political divide to fix the system so that young people have a fighting chance of building a life for themselves in the UK.
