Aid for Gaza
I am appalled with the freezing of funding to UNWRA who are the only agency capable of delivering humanitarian aid to the desperate people of Gaza. To collectively punish a whole population for the alleged activities of a handful of employees of UNWRA who have already been identified and are being investigated is to say the least judgemental before the facts have been established and is morally indefensible. I would not wish my name to be associated with such an unpleasant and unjust action as that suggested by a Government.Where is the compassion in such an action. Restore the funding with immediate effect.
Why is this important?
The people of UK have shown in response to other tragedies that they are a compassionate and caring nation. The people of Gaza are facing a nightmare scenario of military action out of all proportion to the heinous acts perpetrated by Hamas with countless thousands of innocents including a high proportion of women and children and the destruction of the infrastructure of Gaza itself resulting in hunger and lack of medical facilities. Now is the time to stop this dreadful assault and let aid flow freely into Gaza
