AN END TO THE SCAMALOT ECONOMY

The Kingdom of Scams is Thriving — And They’re Letting It.
Every day, millions of people are exposed to fake competitions, scam adverts, and fraudulent promotions online — often hosted or boosted by major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Google.

These ads promise prizes (cars, holidays, cash) or impersonate brands like Lidl, Aldi, Mercedes, or British Gas — but they’re scams designed to steal personal data, money, or identities.

Despite countless reports, these ads keep appearing, because:

  • Platforms profit from hosting them

  • Enforcement is slow, patchy or non-existent

  • Scammers face zero consequences

This creates a Scamalot — a digital kingdom of lies — where the public is routinely exploited, and the government does far too little to stop it.

Why is this important?

Why You Should Sign This Petition

Because it could be your mother, your friend, or you who clicks on the wrong ad.

Because online scams are no longer rare — they’re everywhere, pushed right into our feeds by platforms that don’t care, because they profit.

Because people are being tricked, robbed, and misled on a daily basis, while regulators do nothing and scammers walk away untouched.

Because you shouldn’t need a cybersecurity degree just to use the internet safely.

Because it’s time for the UK government to:

  • Force platforms to remove scam ads immediately

  • Fine repeat offenders

  • And protect the public from the flood of digital fraud

This isn’t just about scams — it’s about trust, safety, and holding power to account.
