Better mental health services
There is an increase in need for mental health services however the mental health facilities we currently have in Teesside are few and underfunded. This needs to change. If the government is serious about levelling up they must invest in there people and invest not only in physical health care facilities but in mental health care too.
Why is this important?
The governments own website shows that In the uk only around one in three people with mental health issues are actually able to access mental health services. It is estimated a staggering 1.2 million people are on the waiting list for community mental health services. Teesside has one of the highest suicide rates in England and wales. Getting the correct help and support a the right time will save lives. If we come together as a community we can make a change.
