End the destruction save the Calais Hunger Strikers

The Hunger Strikers of the Calais jungle camp have asked a member of the EU Commision of Human Rights to come to the Calais jungle to meet them in order to
-witness the inhumane treatment of residents by the CRS
- stop the forced destruction of the camp

Why is this important?

The Calais Jungle is home to approx 6-8000 people fleeing war and persecution. 305 of these are unaccompanied children.
Many are vulnerable, elderly, injured, ill or pregnant. Many families have young families have young children. Many have family in the Uk they are trying to reach. The boarders are closed and these people find themselves in a desperate state of limbo.

The recent court ruling of the demolishion of the south side of the camp promised
-Peacefull, humane eviction would take place over several weeks
-no use of bulldozers
-adequate alternative accommodation would be given
-community spaces would be protected

This was a LIE

Excessive use of CSS gas and water cannons have been used to aggressively force people from their shelters.
People were given an hours notice to leave.
The new containers have as little as 150 spaces left.
There is no where else for these people to go.
As little as 1 bus a day had been taking people to centres across France. Lack of communication means many do not know where they are being taken to.

Women and children have been targeted by gas. Many children have been hospitalised. There had been 1 confirmed death of a infant.

The following is a statement from the hunger strikers.

"We on hunger-strike because we left our countries to find our human rights and unfortunately here we find none"
"At 12 noon, 2nd March 2016 we stopped eating and sewed our lips together. We will continue not to eat until our demands are met."
Currently 9 men are on hunger strike. Their lips have been sewn shut in protest at their voices not being heard.
We enter into the 7th day. They are becoming weak but remail determined.
It is vital their human rights are listend to.
