To: THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN, NORTHERN IRELAND AND ZAMBIAN GOVERNMENTS

End the hypocrisy and free Afumba Mombotwa

We knock on your doors with the spirit of peace to you as countries
that stood as a witness to the bogus union of Zambia in 1964, which
was terminated at its establishment by the Parliament of the Republic
of Zambia. This agreement to which the UK was a signatory did not
enter into force, but it was simply signed and then started the
process of its termination just a week later. Since 1965, the
relationship between Barotseland and Zambia was purely based on an
assumption, and any effort from the Barotse Community to correct the
situation resulted in arrests, intimidation, killings and many other
unfortunate circumstances.
Please we request that you influence the International Community to
pressure Zambia to release Afumba Mombotwa, Pelekelo Likando and
Sylvester Nambao Kalima from their 10 year, hard labour prison sentences slapped on them, for making peaceful attempts to establish Barotseland as an
independent state from Zambia as demanded by the people of Barotseland. They have been illegally imprisoned by the Zambian government who no longer have a right to do so as they terminated any ties that Barotseland had with Zambia when they terminated the Barotseland Agreement of 1964. Imprisoning them is a violation of inherent and inalienable human rights and it is hypocritical as the Zambian Government relinquished any rights to discuss anything about Barotseland. In short, Zambia has terminated the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 and further continue to enjoy the rights and privileges contained in an agreement which they terminated. You cannot discuss a contract after you terminate it without consent of all parties involved. When
the trio were being tried in the Zambian Courts, Zambia was using
their penal law to determine their wrong doing, when they were supposed to use the Barotseland Agreement 1964, because this is a document that begot Zambia and its penal law. As such the imprisonment of the trio is purely illegal and it must be condemned by all especially the United Kingdom being the witness to this.
The trio have been imprisoned in appalling conditions not fit for any
live creature and they should be released at once. We request that you
instruct Zambia to release these noble men without conditions!

Why is this important?

Afumba Mombotwa was following the Postli-minium principle of
international law which deals with restoration of sovereignties,
trying to help the Barotseland nation regain her sovereignty peacefully
which was taken away from them in 1969. The Barotseland Agreement 1964
was terminated before it entered into force. The people of Barotseland
have been lied to for over 50 years and the right to rule their own
land was taken away from them. Zambia terminated the agreement which
was made in 1964 between the Barotseland and Northern Rhodesia
witnessed by the British Government. Former President, Kenneth Kaunda
terminated the agreement without involving the Barotse party at its
establishment, which he later announced in 1969. The Kaunda
Government stole all of Barotseland's valuables in form of gold and
financial assets amounting to 78,500,000 million British Pounds. In
the process Barotseland has faced constant waste marginalization
economically and socially that today Barotseland remains the poorest
part of Zambia and poorest in the world among other nations. Every
government that is voted into power in Zambia promised to reinstate
the agreement made and allow the Barotse people to rule themselves but
once elected, the promise remains unfulfilled. It is now a fact the
people of Barotseland have followed all the procedures to restore the
sovereignty of their nation so they also enjoy the rights and freedoms
denied to them by the Zambian Government. Please help to tell the
world to release 3 noble leaders who were imprisoned illegally for
speaking up for humanity and their people. Last August 2015, the
Barotseland Transitional Government has filed an application in the
International Court of Justice for rights to sue other nations in that
court, so that we start the process to sue the government of Zambia
for illegally occupying Barotseland. It is premised on the fact that
Barotseland already declared independence on the 8th of September 2011 which was then affirmed by the Barotse National Council of 27th of March,
2012 and that these declarations have never been contested by Zambia,
therefore, any further occupation of Barotseland by Zambia is deemed
illegal as it amounts to interference in the internal affairs of an
independent Barotseland and that it violates the sovereignty of the
independent nation of Barotseland. For more information go to:
