Ending Cash Discrimination so People with Learning Disabilities can be Engaged

Herefordshire County Council own Leisure Centres but have them operated by Halo who are card/contactless only. This policy actively discriminates against those who may for various reasons only use cash and it most certainly discriminates against those with Learning Disabilities or who are not neuro typical.
Those with certain disabilities including learning disabilities are becoming deskilled as they cannot practice their money management skills in any of these locations. I have seen and heard stories of people not able to purchase a service or even buy a drink or ice cream because they do not possess a Debit or Credit Card. The pound is still legal tender and post Queen Elizabeth II death her son King Charles has now got money with his head on it and yet people are finding it harder and harder to spend Legal Tender.

I want Herefordshire County Council to instruct Halo who operate the services on their behalf to reverse this policy and reintroduce (legal tender) cash to increase opportunities for those who are now finding this policy of a discriminatory nature to empower and give independence to those who are now marginalised.

Why is this important?

It is the right thing to do.
It impacts many people in the county of Herefordshire and it will be impacting negatively on people they are related to or are friends of them or their family.
We can collectively be the voice for those who so often have no voice or who are simply ignore.

I would like to see people from all over sign the petition to demonstrate to Herefordshire County Council that their awful actions are known about far and wide and that people from all corners of the UK and even beyond care about this as they care about vulnerable groups becoming marginalised.

It could impact, you, I or someone we care about and love so let's make a stand together to end this discriminatory policy.
