Ex-Prime minister pay award

Dear Mr Lewis,

I understand, I hope correctly, that each ex-prime minister is entitled to claim a yearly award of £115,000.

I find it distasteful that a character such as Boris Johnson, who broke his own rules during the Covid-19 restrictions and repeatedly lied to the House, should be entitled to this payment. However, what would be intolerable would be if Liz Truss, who after a few days in office rendered millions of people into food, heating and mortgage poverty and made this once revered Country a laughing stock,  also becomes eligible for this award after merely weeks being PM!

I would welcome your views on this subject.

Yours sincerely

Alan Copperwheat

Why is this important?

Each time we have a new Prime Minister we pay for their life time award.
