Fundamentally Reform The Outdated Criminal Justice System.

The Criminal Justice System/Service in England and Wales is antiquated, disjointed, overwhelmed, and unfit for purpose. There is no I.T. compatibility between police/CPS/courts/prisons/probation services.  Consequently, offender management is directly with much of intra-CJS communication via pen & paper rather than digital.  Several recent examples of convicted prisoners being released from prison errantly has drawn the public's attention but these mistakes are not new; it's been going on for decades, and more so since the privatisation of prison management.
A review needs to ascertain how all CJS components can be digitally connected, and the CJS's governance.  Why, for instance is Policing the responsibility of Home Office while the rest of the CJS falls under the Dept.of Justice ??
There will be stiff opposition from the "Rumpole" old guard but the whole system (service?) from arrest to parole/probation must be dragged into the 21st century with full use of modern technology like A.I. for example.

Alternatively do nothing, and don't be surprised by the amount of violent street crime and burglaries.

Why is this important?

CJS Reform is important if governments of all colours are to meet their primary duty: "To keep its citizens safe and secure".
There is little point in having crackdowns on knife crime if the CJS is unable and not equipped to deal with it.
Once charged with an offence some defendants and victims are waiting over two years for a trial date. Case papers go missing, witnesses memories fade, and victims become dejected.
We need police, CPS, courts, magistrates/judges, prisons, etc to work in sync with each other to prevent victims of crime, and offenders falling through the very large cracks in the 'service'.
