Get Behind Our Public Sector Workers
Hi
I have an idea which I think could work regarding public sector pay.
I am 30 years old earning a fairly decent salary and I would happily pay an extra 10 or 20 pounds per month in tax if I knew it would go directly to public sector workers, eg school teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters. I would only do it if it were a set amount of my earnings, not a percentage, and again I would only do it if it were going 100% to the public sector.
I think this could be an opt in or out scheme rolled out nationwide. I also think it would be a good idea to allow people who choose to opt in to select which sectors they want their contributions to go to.
I think it's an apsoloute travesty that nurses and school teachers who spent years educating themselves are on the most part earning considerably less than I do. I understand I am just an unknown person with no backing, but I believe if this were announced maybe with a poll to determine national perspective on the idea it could be something worth pursuing.

Why is this important?
Because public sector workers are under payed.
