Introduce measures to put on the electoral roll automatically anybody applying for a national insurance number or a driving licence.
Why is this important?
More than 1 million voters have already dropped off the UK electoral register and another 7 million could follow after the 2015 election, according to the Guardian. If nothing is done, the election results will be distorted. Many renters and students will be excluded from voting because they change address more often than the rest of the population.
