Give Barry its share of "Levelling up" funds for a water sports centre & marina!
We are angry and frustrated that Barry has missed out on vital "levelling" up funding which would have created a new world class marina and watersports centre to transform Barry docks waterfront. The £20M scheme would have provided facilities for both visitors and residents alike.
Why is this important?
In 1913, Barry Docks was the largest coal exporting port in the world but today the Docks waterfront is looking to transform into a place where the community can enjoy and to create a better more environmentally friendly future. The funding would have gone towards developing a new water sports facility at Barry Waterfront and a new marina at the site known as the mole. The bid for funding was a strong one and we are determined to do what we can to ensure it succeeds in the next funding round.
