Glenholme centre and Park Pavilion
We note the planning notification for the demolition of the Glenholme Centre (Boys Club) and the bowling green pavillion on Glenholme Park.
We appreciate that the condition of these building has deteriorated and believe that this is largely due to neglect and lack of investment by DCC.
We call upon DCC officers and Councillors to undertake to take no action to demolish either building until such time as they have engaged in discussions with the community.
Further we call upon DCC to invest either restore and develop these buildings or to develop alternative buildings/facilities on these sites.

Why is this important?
There is a lack of facilities for people of all ages to develop skills and engage in community building across the Wear Valley, an area of high deprivation.
