House of Lords democratic reform

The House of Lords is an unelected House of Parliament that needs reform. It needs to be democratic, representative and held to account.

Why is this important?

Fundamentally, the House of Lords is an undemocratic, unelected body who has the power to scrutinise and delay Bills from the commons. If something can be taken away from the EU referendum, it's that there is a public unease from unelected bodies having influence over national law.
It's antiquated and unrepresentative of British wider society.
