Address the terrible crisis in the NHS by increasing the percentage of our Gross Domestic Product spent on health to at least 11% in order to be in line with other major western countries. Raise this from the billions disappearing in tax avoidance and from progressive taxation which is ring fenced for the NHS.
Why is this important?
We created the NHS after the war when the country was broke and deeply in debt. Now that we are a huge economy the NHS is in crisis and most advanced western countries are spending far more on health than we do in the UK. Billions are leaking out of our economy in massive tax avoidance. Our NHS is very efficient but we need to bring the amount we spend on it up to the levels of other advanced economies, at least 11% of GDP.
