The 60+ Smartpass which allows free public transport in Northern Ireland for the over 60’s is vital for many to live their lives with independence. But right now, the Department for Infrastructure is thinking about scrapping them.
Free public transport means people are able to socialise, meet their family and take part in society with fewer obstacles. In a cost of living crisis, it's vital that people over 60 in Northern Ireland retain this support.
