Make a Paul McGann Spin-Off in the interim between RTD2 and the next Showrunner
We know Paul McGann is not only willing, but eager to reprise the 8th Doctor on screen. We need to make ourselves heard, we want a spin-off with the 8th Doctor. Think of the potential of that time in the Doctors life, with the Time War looming. We can go back to a time before the lore became so convoluted with the Timeless Child arc, Bigeneration, and Billie Pipers Doctor. The BBC knows that Doctor Who has huge potential, and they know we want more, so why not make a spin off to fill the gap between the upcoming special, and the next season of Doctor Who which I think we can all assume wont be coming in 2027.
Why is this important?
It’s important to keep breathing life into the show. I know that people are gagging to move forward, not backwards, and so am I. But why introduce ‘The Whoniverse’ if we cant do things like this? And is it really stepping back if its something we have never seen on screen but always wanted? Whether an old showrunner comes back to write it like Moffatt, or someone new, this could have the potential to bring back genuine attention to Doctor Who, especially with how stylized his Big Finish audios are. Imagine a return to genuine stylised Doctor Who, rather than pretty 4k cameras, and Disney lighting, we return to a more grungey, dimly lit era, but rather than grunge, its a victorian, edwardian style space adventure.
