Make Russia Pay Ukraine War Reparations from Frozen Assets
This petition calls on the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and his government to lead an international action to seize all frozen Russian assets and future income to pay war reparations for the destruction of cities, loss of habitat and loss of life Vladmir Putin’s brutal war is causing to Ukraine and its people. The proceeds should be put into an international "Ukraine Post-War Reconstruction Fund". Announcing this as an escalation of sanctions will make Putin and his oligarchs take note that the destruction and deaths they are causing will ultimately cost Russia dearly, as they will pay for all of it.
Facing the prospect of entirely losing their ill-gotten wealth to Ukraine war-reparations, Russia’s oligarchs and the top Russian leadership around Putin may be forced to intervene by whatever means possible to stop the war as soon as possible and save further destruction and loss lives, which is the utmost objective of this petition.
If this petition is won, there will be greater pressure of Vladmir Putin and his closest allies to stop the war.
