MPs Vote Against Kwarteng's Tax Changes
When the finance (mini budget) bill is introduced into Parliament as it returns, MPs must bring in amendments to reverse the proposed changes to the higher rate of income tax, all income tax and corporation tax.
Why is this important?
These proposed changes are hugely unequal, will penalise poorer people when public services have to be cut to pay for them, will undermine environmental causes because of lack of funding and threaten to destabilise the entire UK economy.
