Ofgem, Ofsted… How about an independent Ofgov?

We need an independent body to overview ethics in government. Currently, there are few or no consequences for lying to the British people, Parliament, and the Queen.
The Seven Principles of Public Life should be the benchmark, as identified on the U.K. Government website. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-7-principles-of-public-life/the-7-principles-of-public-life--2
This Ofgov body would have the authority to investigate and make public a rating, including areas that need improvement, and a timeline for initiating changes. Appointments to this body should include representatives from across the U.K., geographically, culturally and economically.

Why is this important?

It has become evident that some politicians have abused their positions for personal gain or made mistakes without censure. An independent Ofgov body would help to expose these failings and Principles of Public Life would clarify the expectations the public have for their representatives.
