Only helpline for male survivors of abuse facing closure by the UK Government

The government needs to keep the funding for Safeline’s helpline so it can keep helping the 2,000 men and boys who rely on it each year. The UK government give Safeline £250k a year, this small investment makes a huge difference in supporting male survivors of sexual abuse. We’re asking the government to do the right thing and ensure this lifeline stays open for those who need it most.

Why is this important?

Safeline is the only male dedicated helpline for survivors of sexual abuse and it’s facing closure by the Ministry of Justice. It’s used by over 2,000 men and boys every year, providing the well needed support for men who are coping with the trauma of sexual abuse. The helpline is entirely government funded, and only costs the UK government £250k a year to run, a small price to pay for the huge impact it has. We urge the government to keep the funding towards Safeline and ensure this well needed helpline for male survivors of abuse stays open. Survivors deserve to be heard, supported, and never forgotten
