Pedestrian crossing for RCPS West Sussex

There is no safe crossing on North lane to Rustington primary community school. A visible pedestrian crossing is what the school needs

Why is this important?

There are no signs of slowing down or children crossing, zebra crossing, pelican crossing, no crossing patrol. Parents witnessed a series of incidents involving children and parents trying to cross in front of the school that could have ended badly. RCPS is a big school and there are parents, grandparents, school children, siblings (in pushchairs or scooters or bikes), pregnant women, teachers and other staff members trying to cross safely. We don't need an accident to happen. Life has priority, not cars. No one can replace a life or a lost leg. Prevention is better than treatment! Also, what example do we give to our children if the society doesn't help them get safely to school?

The area coordinator that I talked to said that even the MP didn't do anything. I intend to try again (I just want some more signatures). If this doesn't work, then I am waiting for suggestions

I've been told by school that they've done everything but only an accident will change things. Later it was corrected in saying that they just repeat what they've been told by WSCC.

A zebra crossing costs £8000. Arun council is planning in spending £7.2 million on regeneration of the sea front in Littlehampton according to Littlehampton gazette.

I talked to the coordinator in charge of advertising the crossing patrol job and she said the job was advertised under Chichester and no one applied for it.There were 2 people that applied for the job(according to school), but WSCC'response was late on one and not at all on the other so those people didn't want to go further. When I asked the coordinator about these 2 applicants, she said that they didn't meet their criteria to be eligible for the job. Now I can not find the job at all. How can people find the job?

Applications have been made at the West Sussex county council (school said that it was done).I have seen one person from highway team assessing the traffic for 5 minutes after I personally requested a solution for the traffic on North lane. After this, they closed the case saying that they transferred it to crossing patrol team.
