PENSIONERS FROZEN OUT
Dear Dr Coffey,
Many pensioners like my Wife and I have worked hard to contribute to our Country for over 45 years and feel that we are not being appreciated for our efforts. This year especially with such an insult as a 3.1% rise on our Pension, especially with the increase in fuel and energy prices and the rate of inflation being nearly double the increase of percentage of Pension rise.
Many Pensioners will go without heating the home to feed themselves and not use there car, if they have one, and this could mean that they don't get to socialise with other people. This will in most cases affect there Mental Health through loneliness and earlier onset of Dementure.
Poor mobility leading to heart decease, lung decease and diabetise.
As the title of this Petition points out, I believe that many Pensioners will be Frozen Out and that seems to be so morally wrong.

Why is this important?
I believe that Pensioners as a section of our society have been treated unfairly especially with this recent spring budget and it also emphasises the value that this Government attributes to the Elderly in our Society.
