Petition in support of electing a new Labour leader

Accept that with the Conservatives likely to call a new general election, and the country reeling from the decision to leave the EU (which Corbyn has supported since his youth) it is time to allow the Labour party to once again become a professional opposition capable of holding to tories to account, particularly with regards to rewriting EU legislation.

Why is this important?

75% of young people voted to remain in the EU and Corbyn contributed (whether through indifference or on purpose is yet to be seen) to the people voting leave. We have already began to see the effects on our economy and future opportunities and it is time a serious leader from the centre left of the party took the helm now the country's circumstances have changed. The Labour party is not a narrow pressure group and cannot be held to ransom by radical insurgents from the Socialist workers party, we must regain seats to fight the tories. This cannot be achieved by a party now tainted by allegations of racism & intolerance - nor are views such as uni lateral disarmament realistic for the wider electorate.

This is not an endorsement of Blairism, but a call for a moderate centre left direction for the party.
