Petition to Improve Road Safety in Court Road, Malvern
There was an accident in Court Road on Friday 18th August involving a car which ended up on its roof. There have been other accidents in the past, including one at the junction of Clarence Road and Court Road.
The number and type of vehicles using Court Road is increasing, including heavy trucks and buses. This is causing a danger to pedestrians, cyclists, and children who use the road.
The residents of Court Road are calling for traffic calming measures to be implemented, such as speed bumps, traffic lights, or a one-way system. They are also asking for the council to improve the pavements in the area.
Specific action steps that the council can take include:
Install traffic calming measures, such as speed bumps or a one-way system.
Restrict the weight of vehicles that are allowed to use Court Road.
Improve the pavements in the area.
Increase police patrols in the area.
Work with the developers of the new estate to ensure that they are not creating a rat run through Court Road.
The residents of Court Road are asking for action to be taken before a tragedy occurs. They are calling on the council to take their concerns seriously and to implement the necessary measures to make Court Road a safe place for everyone.
