The award states that it will be awarded to all front line emergency workers but mentions nothing about those who were actually on the front line, the Doctors, nurses, paramedics and volunteers risking their health and that of their families.
The press release states the following,
"The government is developing plans to mark the contribution of key workers, including NHS workers, to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and will announce further plans in due course."
but why are they not being recognised in the same way?
Surely they should be first in the list of recipients?
Why is this important?
Over 150 doctors nurses and paramedics died from Covid-19 during the last 18 months, this is more than the government listed front line emergency workers (police, fire, prison) combined.
